Candidate and Employee Assessments and Tests for Predicting Job Performance and Training

These days, it’s increasingly very popular for large companies and employers to use what’s called cognitive ability assessments and testing to help screen candidates and prospective leadership succession employees for hire, promotion and succession. These assessments are designed to help predict those who will perform on the job and have the likelihood passing training programs and the like. Assessment Tests

There are many cognitive ability assessment tests out there, not to be confused with personality assessments and test. For example, The Wonderlic Personnel Test-Revised, The Criteria Cognitive Aptitude Test (CCAT) and Predictive Index Learning Indicator Assessment/ Test. These and many other cognitive ability tests are highly and positively correlated with job performance, unlike the personality test which has a low correlation with job performance and cognitive ability tests.

Efficiency and Effectiveness

To understand their use better, some big companies may have more than 50,000 applicants per year, more than 55,000 paper tests annually, and more than 3,250 interviews annually. So you can see where these test could be helpful for screening efficiency and effectiveness. These assessments are also used in the U.S. National Football League (NFL) to help teams choose high-performers, draft picks and winners/make money!
